JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Impact Coach (previously titled “Achievement Coach”)
Responsible To: Chief Academic Officer
Basic Function: Provide direct support to students, including growth and
acceleration opportunities, so that students meet or exceed
academic expectations in reading and math.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing support for teachers in the adopted district’s ELA and Math curriculum.
- Implement initiatives to accelerate student achievement and build a positive climate that supports student success.
- Implement evidence-based and differentiated growth and acceleration strategies.
- Collaborate with the district team and school administrators to establish and monitor high standards for excellence with students, teachers, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Identify qualitative and quantitative data to assess performance, provide intervention, acceleration, and drive goals and decision-making.
- Assist in collecting and reporting of data to evaluate the school’s intervention program.
- Collaborate with school leaders to analyze data and determine effective intervention supports.
- Identify potential issues and obstacles and proactively take action to create and implement solutions.
- Attend all training required by local, state, and federal educational agencies.
- Assist in initiating and facilitating school based professional development and assuring implementation of successful strategies for high yield instructional and intervention practices.
- Work with principal, classroom teachers, paraeducators and district level personnel in planning, implementing and coordinating intervention and acceleration programs.
- Assist teachers in providing a variety of learning experiences for students.
- Attend professional learning activities throughout the school year and provide continuous training to all staff members with follow up.
- Provide demonstration lessons relating to appropriate methods of intervention high yield practices.
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with students, staff, other administrators, parents and community members.
- Performs related duties and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Chief Academic Officer or superintendent.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Meet regularly in a district-wide PLC to discuss student progress in reading and math and maintain student progress in a centralized database.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge:
- Experience in raising student achievement, and improvement underperforming student achievement.
- Principles and practices of modern public school intervention best practices at all tier levels and the ability to apply them to meet the needs of students.
- Deep knowledge of literacy and numeracy, as well as experience designing and implementing successful instructional strategies, including linking technology to learning, for English Language Learners, students with special education needs, students identified as gifted and talented, and students who are reaching for proficiency.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher (Master’s Degree preferred)
Valid Kentucky Teaching Certificate
Minimum of five (5) years of successful K-12 Teaching Experience
Direct Experience with Non-traditional Learning Programs
Documented success with reading and/or math growth and accelerations
Terms of Employment:
Salary and work year to be established by the board of education.
Evaluation:
Performance of will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of board policy for certified personnel.
